NEWS BITES: USA TO HOST WOMEN'S CLUB WORLD CUP IN JANUARY AND FIFA DOUBLES WORLD CUP FUNDING

The organisation initially planned to launch the tournament in early 2026, but delayed it to 2028 to give the competition a dedicated calendar window that avoids clashing directly with the World Cup next year.

The tournament, in the middle of most domestic women's seasons around the world, will take place from the 5th-30th of January with 19 global teams across six continents.

The news comes after Miami was selected to host the second edition for the Champions Cup, with the stadium hosting the final stage of the competition.
