NEWS: EMILY FOX SIGNS NEW DEAL WITH ARSENAL & TESCO WILL OFFER FREE FRUIT AND VEG WITH EVERY WSL TICKET

Arsenal have extended the contract of American defender Emily Fox on a three year deal.
Fox has been a key playmaker for the Gunners since her move from North Carolina Courage in 2024, winning the Women's Champions Cup, Champions League and Women's League Cup trophy as well as featuring in the PFA's team of the year while in North London.
She is highly regarded as one of the best full backs in the world and since has made almost 100 apperances for Arsenal in all competitons. In January, she had one year left on her contract but Arsenal were confident that she would stay at the club.
In an interview with BBC Sport, Fox said:
'I'm very pleased to be able to continue my journey with Arsenal and it was honestly an easy decision because of where I want to be now, and in a few years' time. When I think of how I'm going to grow, be challenged and be in an environment where it's like my second home, I think of Arsenal.
It is a club that is wanting to continue to push the women's game, invest in it and focus on the community, the history of it, the culture, and wanting to excel.'
In a landmark deal, Tesco will offer free fruit and vegetables for every WSL ticket sold this season as part of their Tesco Free Fruit and Veg For Schools programme as they became the official Supermarket Partner of the league.
The programme, started in April 2026, aims to provide access to free fruit and vegetables to school children throughout the day, supporting healthy eating habits from an early age.
The new partnership aims to extend this further through community and school programmes, while encouraging more people to attend and engage with the women's game.
Every attendance at a WSL game this season, whether in the WSL1 or WSL2, willl contribute towards a donation from WSL Football to the programme, with Tesco bringing 'product development, supplier base and nutritional expertise' to the league's health and nutriiton sector.
Suzanne Quinn, Customer Director of Tesco, told the WSL Football website:
'We’re very excited to partner with the WSL Football to help support our Free Fruit and Veg for Schools programme, while driving attendance at matches this season.
We’re committed to supporting the health of communities around the country, and we know that keeping active and making healthier choices are fundamental to this mission.
We’ve set an ambition to help one million children access free fruit and veg through our school and community programmes, and this partnership is a brilliant opportunity to raise awareness of that work through the growing popularity of women’s football.
It is such an exciting time for the game, and we’re proud to collaborate with WSL Football to not only support the women’s football, but also inspire the next generation of players and fans.'
Zarah Al-Kudcy, Chief Revenue Officer, of WSL Football, added:
'We are thrilled that our final Official Partner is one of the most recognisable names in the country. Tesco's decision to come on board is a real endorsement of the direction of travel and a testament to the momentum behind the women’s game.
A key priority for WSL Football and our clubs is driving attendance, and this unique collaboration with Tesco offers real mutual benefit.
From working with local communities and schools to ensure more children are making healthier choices to unlocking a partnership which will benefit the health and nutrition of our players.
The partnerships we have built are helping to transform women’s football, and we hope this partnership can go some way towards transforming society too, by helping to build healthy habits for children across the country.'
