NEWS: MANAGER MARC SKINNER LEAVES MANCHESTER UNITED BY MUTUAL CONSENT

Manchester United Women's manager Marc Skinner has agreed to leave the club by mutual consent.

Skinner, who arrived at United from Birmingham City, led the Red Devils for five years, winning the FA Cup in 2024, reaching the Champions League group stage for the first time last season and finishing runners-up in three domestic Cup finals.

His departure comes a month before United's first Women's Super League (WSL) fixture against London City Lionesses in September and a quiet transfer window for the club.

Supporters have grown frustrated at the lack of signings in the transfer window this season, with United targeting and signing younger players in the hope of securing sustainable and tangible long-term success, but have raised questions about their approach so far, including their lack of investment.

It is understood the club and Skinner held discussions in the summer, and a mutual agreement for his departure was reached.

Sources at the club say they are advanced in their search for a replacement with background checks on potential candidates already completed.
